Description:
THIS… is a 1948 Chrysler Town & Country, an older restoration of a completely rust-free and well-preserved example.
Cosmetically, this Town & Country presents exceptionally well. The Catalina Tan paint remains in very nice condition with minimal flaws, and overall fit and finish are strong. The doors shut solidly and align as they did when new. The glass appears to be original and remains in good condition with no lamination issues. Interior dash chrome is original and has held up well, while the exterior chrome has been re-plated to a high-quality standard.
The interior shows excellent care, and all electronics function properly, including the gauges, heater, radio, windshield wipers, and clock. The black convertible top (Top Code #1) remains in good condition, and the top mechanism operates smoothly.
Power comes from the original engine, which is reported to run strong with good oil pressure and smooth performance. The Fluid Drive system operates as intended. Recent mechanical work includes all-new brakes—shoes, master cylinder, and wheel cylinders—as well as a full tune-up with new ignition wires, spark plugs, points, and a complete service. The car is reported to run beautifully.
The chassis remains completely rust-free and has not been restored or detailed, showing no patches or structural concerns. The car retains its original exhaust system, which has some small holes and may require repair or replacement. The factory “Spitfire” spark plug cover is missing, and the starter has been converted to a push-button setup, though the original starter components remain present at the carburetor.
