Description:
THIS… is a 1942 Chevrolet Special Deluxe, finished in a green exterior over a gray interior.
This Chevrolet has undergone a comprehensive frame-off restoration, with the body stripped to bare metal before being refinished in a two-tone Seafoam Green and Volunteer Green paint scheme. The interior was completely restored in mohair and features numerous factory accessories included with the Special Deluxe package, such as a deluxe steering wheel with horn ring, AM radio, heater, and dash-mounted clock. An accessory under-seat heater is also equipped.
Power comes from the original 216-cubic-inch inline 6-cylinder engine, which was fully rebuilt to factory specifications and is paired with a 3-speed manual synchromesh transmission. The seller reports that the engine runs extremely quietly and that the column-shifted “three-on-the-tree” transmission shifts smoothly.
The car rides on color-matched steel wheels fitted with chrome trim rings and hubcaps, wrapped in wide whitewall tires. Exterior features include bumper guards and an external sunshade.
This green-on-green Special Deluxe is one of the final Chevrolets produced before wartime manufacturing suspension. The car is accompanied by an extensive collection of restoration photos and documentation detailing the work performed, and it has traveled fewer than 1,400 miles since completion of the restoration.
