Description:
THIS… is a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible, finished in blue and grey over a grey interior.
This Bel Air is a professionally built restomod retaining its original steel body and original frame, which has been boxed for added rigidity. Power comes from a 454ci big-block Chevrolet V8 bored to 468ci, topped with Edelbrock dual quad carburetors, an Edelbrock intake, valve covers, and air cleaner. Exhaust exits through a stainless steel system with Flowmaster 50 Series mufflers.
Power is delivered through a Hughes-built 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission. Cooling is handled by a Hot Rods by Dean Gen 1 core support cooling module, while a Vintage Air Front Runner belt system manages accessories. Braking is upgraded with an ABS electric power master cylinder, CPP drop spindles with front disc brakes, and a CPP 14:1 steering box.
The suspension features front lowering springs, rear leaf springs with lowering blocks, and Bilstein shocks. Out back is a Currie Ford 9-inch rear end with a 3.50 gear ratio and Tru-Trac differential. Fuel delivery is supported by a Rock Valley 28-gallon fuel tank.
The exterior is finished in PPG paint and rides on Schott Velocity wheels, sized 18×7-inch front and 20×12-inch rear, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. A power-operated convertible top completes the exterior presentation.
Inside, the Kip Kuiper–designed custom interior features premium materials, a finished trunk, Vintage Air air conditioning, Lokar pedals, a Gennie Lo-Stick shifter, and an Ididit tilt steering column topped with a 14-inch LeCarra steering wheel. Instrumentation includes AutoMeter tachometer, oil pressure, and temperature gauges, while the original speedometer and fuel gauge remain functional. Entertainment is handled by a RetroSound-style stereo system with amplifier and subwoofer, along with cruise control and a discreet fold-away GPS unit.
Overall, this 1956 Bel Air Convertible represents an extensively engineered, high-quality build that blends iconic Tri-Five styling with modern performance, comfort, and drivability.
