Description:
THIS… is a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 showing 77,234 original miles, finished in its factory-correct Bright Yellow with matte black Boss 302 accents over a black interior.
This Boss 302 has benefitted from a fresh rotisserie restoration, completed to a high standard and retaining a strong focus on factory correctness. The car presents as a well-documented example that is suitable for driving, showing, and continued enjoyment.
Body & Chassis:
The body received a show-quality repaint in its original Bright Yellow. The undercarriage has been restored to factory specifications, finished in red oxide primer with correct body-color overspray, seam sealer, and sound deadener application. The car retains its original 1969-only rear deck spoiler, a rare factory component unique to the ’69 Boss 302. Any prior rust concerns were addressed during restoration, and overall paint quality, fit, and finish are described as 9/10.
Much of the original heavy-duty suspension remains in place, including tie rods, sway bar, and rear leaf springs, which still display original factory paint daubs. The correct staggered rear shock setup, specific to high-performance models such as the Boss 302, Boss 429, and 4-speed 428 Cobra Jet cars, remains intact.
Drivetrain:
The high-revving Boss 302 V8 was fully refurbished during the 2016–2017 restoration. The engine block is a D1ZE service replacement, fitted with correct Boss 302 internals, cylinder heads, and a Buddy Bar aluminum intake. Fuel delivery is handled by a correct date-coded Holley C9ZF-J 4150 carburetor. The factory smog system and rev limiter remain in place.
Shifting is handled by what is believed to be the original 4-speed Toploader transmission with tag code RUG-E3. The rear end is the correct heavy-duty 9-inch nodular “N” case, still wearing its original Ford identification tag and believed to be original to the car.
Interior:
The interior retains its original front and rear seat upholstery. During restoration, a new headliner, Ford tooling dash pad, and carpeting were installed. The car also retains its rare factory Stereosonic 8-track tape system. An aftermarket Hurst shifter has been added in place of the original Ford unit for improved shifting performance.
Overall, this 1969 Boss 302 represents a highly authentic, carefully restored example with excellent documentation, strong originality, and exceptional presentation.
